Spoils of the Sea
Spoils of the Sea is a pirate base adventure where players sail around the map looking for objectives to earn gold, perform acts of piracy will earn rewards, destroying other pirates ships to improve your own ship.
During the Development of the project, I worked as a Junior Tech and worked directly with the engine. My main role was to create the A.I for the game these were the Navy and the Convoy Ships. These used behaviour trees which allowed smoother and easier development of this system.
Next, I worked on the Visuals to appear correctly on the player and A.I Ships. This involved Damage is taken and adding the water spray to make the ships feel more realistic and showed the player was moving around the world.
For the main level, I was assigned some Piracy acts which involved the A.I this allowed me to follow a design brief and create traps for the player.
Finally, I helped take the feedback from testing the tutorial level and implement the changes and make improvements to the current system in place, this involved updating the Checkpoints and getting them to add to a counter to check the players progress before the next doors open. Getting the UI to pop up correctly when the player starts and objective pop-ups and finally the kill counters.
