Marauders was one of the main titles I worked on during my time at Team17 Digital below outlines my responsibilities and tasks during development.

Role - QA Analyst / Senior QA Analyst

Project Responsibilities 

As a QA Analyst on Marauders, a tactical FPS, my performance and expertise led to my promotion to Senior QA Analyst, granting me additional responsibilities in test planning, team coordination, and communication with production and development teams. While continuing to ensure the stability, performance, and gameplay balance of the game, I also took on leadership roles to improve testing efficiency and workflow organisation.

Additionally, I contributed to several major updates, including the TwitchCon 2022 build, Gamescom 2022 build, Closed Beta, and multiple tech tests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducted extensive playtesting of combat mechanics, AI behaviour, and in-game progression systems.
  • Identified, logged, and tracked bugs using Redmine, providing detailed reports to assist developers in resolving issues.
  • Performed network testing to assess server stability, matchmaking, and synchronization in multiplayer sessions.
  • Conducted localisation testing to ensure UI elements, subtitles, and in-game text were accurate across different languages.
  • Collaborated with designers and developers to provide feedback on weapon balancing, movement mechanics, and overall game flow.
  • Executed regression testing to ensure previous fixes did not introduce new issues.
  • Validated audio-visual elements to confirm correct implementation of sound effects, animations, and UI interactions.
  • Maintained and created test plans to ensure comprehensive testing coverage and documentation.
  • Led morning scrum calls, aligning the QA team’s focus and addressing immediate testing priorities.
  • Sent End-of-Day (EoD) reports summarizing testing progress, key findings, and pending issues.
  • Participated in production and development meetings, discussing progress and potential challenges with future updates.
  • Sent out morning focus emails, ensuring the QA team was aligned with testing priorities for the day.


Testing Strategies:
To ensure comprehensive testing coverage, I implemented the following methodologies:
  • Exploratory Testing – Played through various game scenarios to uncover unreported bugs and edge cases.
  • Test Case Execution – Followed structured test plans to verify gameplay mechanics, combat interactions, and UI functionality.
  • Network & Performance Testing – Assessed latency, desynchronization issues, and frame rate stability in online multiplayer sessions.
  • Regression Testing – Re-tested resolved issues to confirm fixes and prevent the recurrence of bugs.
  • Boundary Testing – Pushed gameplay systems to their limits (e.g., extreme inventory loads, rapid weapon switching) to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Audio & Visual Testing – Ensured accurate synchronization of sound effects, weapon animations, and UI responsiveness.

Through these strategies and leadership responsibilities, I contributed significantly to the overall refinement of Marauders, helping deliver a polished and immersive tactical FPS experience while enhancing QA processes within the team.
